Vision

Lawson Park Family Tennis Club embraces diversity and a culture in which members engage with respect, honesty, dignity, and adhere to a code of good sportsmanship, fair play, and courtesy amongst each other.

Code of Conduct

  1. Abusive language or behaviour is not permitted in and around the courts.
  2. No eating, chewing gum or spitting on the courts.
  3. No sport activity other than tennis is permitted.
  4. Only players are allowed on court. Observers, children and pets are not allowed to sit on the benches inside the courts and must wait off the court.
  5. Proper tennis attire is encouraged, including non-marking tennis shoes.
  6. Please take your garbage off the court with you and dispose of it in the garbage can outside the court (i.e. ball lids, empty beverage containers).

Courtesy & Equitable Play

  • 1.     Membership tags are proof of membership and must always be visible or available if requested while on the court.
  • 2.     All players must book a court on the sign-up board.
  • 3.     Court time is slotted for 30 minutes of play.
  • 4.     One member must be at the court and remain at the court to secure court time for singles or doubles. You need to stay to play!
  • 5.     Members may not reserve consecutive time slots. No back-to-back booking of court times. For clarity, a player’s partner, who is also a member cannot book the subsequent time slot to allow continuous play or booking the court to continue play. This applies to singles and doubles.
  • 6.     When playing singles or doubles, the second, or third and fourth player respectively, may not reserve a court time to enable continuous play for any of the members. Locking in continuous time slots by juggling players on the sign-up board is not permitted.
  • 7.     All players must leave the court on the hour and half hour to allow other members on the court. A buzzer will sound at the top (:00) and middle (:30) of every hour indicating it is time to rotate off the court. If the buzzer is malfunctioning, players still need to exit the court on the hour and half hour.
  • 8.     For clarity, if other members are waiting to play, no member is allowed to remain on the court for more than the allotted 30 minutes.
  • 9.     If no member has signed up to play after your court time, you may continue to play.
  • 10.  After a member has secured a court time and providing there is less than 15 minutes before this time, members may use an empty and unreserved court to warm up.
  • 11.  First On First Off. If both courts are being used and only one member has signed up for the next court time, the member that started first must leave the court, irrespective of what court has been reserved by the member.
  • 12.  Adult members have priority over junior members after 6:00PM on weekdays, after 1:00 PM on Saturdays and all day on Sundays.
  • 13.  Public or private lessons are not permitted.
